Information about the Smart Meter Information Portal (SMIP)

The Smart Meter Information Portal (SMIP) is a secure online service provided to assist researchers from the Smart Water Research Centre in the automated capture and management of data from smart meters (data loggers) previously installed in over 300 households. These devices are polling the water usage of households situated between the Sunshine and Gold Coasts in the South East Queensland Corridor. Data and related metadata that is managed by this system includes data logger details, logger data, household survey data and logger history.

SMIP is multi-project aware and capable of handling data loggers which may log data on multiple channels. More recently SMIP was extended to cater for data loggers that measure the wattage of water pumps attached to rain water tanks.
